Care
Watering
Alpine sorrel appreciates regularly moist soil during the growing period. Water moderately during prolonged dry spells, especially in summer. However, avoid standing water which could encourage root rot.
Light exposure
Plant this in partial shade or partial sun. It tolerates shaded areas but develops better with a few hours of direct light. It prefers locations sheltered from strong winds.
Soil
Prefer fertile soil, rich in organic matter and well-structured. Alpine sorrel thrives in mountainous environments; improve your soil with mature compost before planting. Slightly moist but well-draining terrain is ideal.
Fertilization

Cut back faded flower spikes to encourage branching and improve overall appearance. In late autumn, cut the clump back to ground level. Regularly clear dead leaves to prevent moisture pockets.

Alpine sorrel is generally robust. Watch for powdery mildew in dry, warm conditions; improve air circulation. In case of excess moisture, fungi may appear: reduce watering and remove affected parts.
