Care

Watering

Water regularly during the growing and flowering periods, one to two times per week depending on weather conditions. The soil should stay moist but never waterlogged. In summer, water in early morning or late afternoon to prevent fungal diseases.

Light Exposure

Place your rose in full sun, ideally 6 to 8 hours per day minimum. Good exposure promotes abundant flowering and better disease resistance. Partial shade in the afternoon in very hot regions can be beneficial.

Pruning

Prune in late winter (February-March) to remove dead wood and shape the plant. Deadhead spent flowers regularly to extend the flowering period. A light pruning in autumn can also be done to maintain shape and balance.

Fertilizing

Apply balanced fertilizer in spring when growth begins. Continue with monthly applications until August to support flowering. Use a rose-specific fertilizer or well-decomposed compost at the base of the plant.

Soil Preparation

Prepare rich soil amended with compost or well-decomposed manure before planting. Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot. Apply mulch at the surface (5 to 10 cm) to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

Diseases and Pests

Watch for powdery mildew, downy mildew, and black spot, particularly in humid spring and autumn. Watering at the base (not on foliage) significantly reduces risks. Inspect regularly for aphids and spider mites, especially early in the season.
