Care
Watering
Water purslane thrives in very moist, even aquatic conditions. Keep the soil constantly wet or grow it on banks or in areas of temporary inundation. In a pot, place the container in a regularly refilled saucer of water.
Light exposure
Choose a sunny to partially shaded location (at least 4 hours of direct sunlight). Good light promotes more abundant flowering and a more compact habit.
Soil and substrate
Use rich, well-draining potting soil mixed with sand or silt. This plant prefers slightly acidic to neutral soils and tolerates waterlogging well.
Fertilizing
Apply a balanced diluted fertilizer once a month during active growth (spring-summer). Moderate feeding is sufficient; the plant thrives in naturally nutrient-rich soils.
