Watering

Rock Rose prefers well-draining, light and even poor soil. A Mediterranean plant potting mix or a sand-gravel blend works perfectly. The plant tolerates chalky and stony soils; heavy and wet soils should be improved with sand.

Prune lightly after flowering to maintain a compact shape and encourage branching. Pinch young plants in spring to promote a bushier habit. Remove dead or damaged branches in late winter.

Rock Rose is undemanding and requires only moderate fertilizing. A Mediterranean plant fertilizer or balanced formula in spring is more than sufficient. Avoid excess nitrogen which promotes foliage at the expense of flowering.
